Well I thought I would try something different this time.
Coasters !!!!
Resin coasters in fact. I was looking at some resin paintings which looked really good ( next project ) and I saw some different type of resin coasters that I thought looked really good so I thought I would give them a try. ( there will be other versions planned. )
As always I'm new at this so my first efforts are not exactly the best but I did like the effect which is called dragon scale. And as with anything practise makes perfect.
The idea is that like with the acrylic paint pouring you put different colours on top of each other, but with resin they mix in a interesting way, especially after heated with a heat gun or blow torch.
The main difference between acrylic art and resin art is that resin art can take days as everything is done in layers, the more layers the more days it takes as you need between 6 and 12 hours for the resin to set between layers. Anyway here are the pictures.
